Tigersharks chomp competition

The Brewton Local Area Swim Team recently traveled to Montgomery to participate
In the MYB Barracudas Gobbler Classic swim Meet.
Tigersharks in attendance were Elizabeth Glass, Matthew Kirkland, Callie Kent, Caleb Kent, Dean Thelen, Jacob Thelen and Patrick Noble.
The Tigersharks were one of 7 teams represented at the meet, in which over 200 swimmerstotal participated in the two day event.
All of our swimmers brought home awards in their respective age groups, with four of the seven bringing home high point trophies in their age groups.
Callie Kent trophied, placing 3rd overall in the girls 8U age group brought which brought home ten individual ribbons.
Matthew Kirkland trophied, placing 3rd overall in points bringing home nine individual ribbons as well in the 9-10 Boys age group.
Patrick Noble trophied, coming in just 2 points behind Matthew, placing fourth overall and bringing home 10 individual ribbons. 9-10 Boys
Caleb Kent also brought home a high point trophy, swimming in the 11-12 boys category, bringing home ten individual ribbons for his award winning weekend.
Jacob Thelen, 11-12 boys, also had a great meet, swimming several personal best times and winning a medal for his efforts.
Dean Thelen had a standout performance as well bringing home five individual ribbons in the 13-14 boys age group.
Elizabeth Glass, 13-14 girls, had a banner meet, swimming some personal best times and bringing home 5 individual ribbons for top 6 placing in her events.
“As a coach, I couldn’t be prouder of their efforts,” said swimming coach Angel Boyd.
The Tigersharks will be in action again, the first weekend in Dec. as they travel to Gulf Shores for the PNY Holiday Classic.
The Tigersharks are a year round USA swim club, and are currently registering for he winter and spring sessions.
