JDCC still looking for answers

The JDCC Warhawks suffered their ninth loss of the season against the Southern Union State Bison at home this past Saturday.

JDCC went into the half trailing 22-24. The Warhawks were unable to keep up with the Bisons in the second half. JDCC was outscored 50-22 to lose the game 76-46 their largest margin since Nov. 14, also against Southern Union State.

JDCC head coach Allen Gainer said he said his team had trouble scoring in the second half and that the holiday break should be good for his team.

“We got off to good start but had trouble trying to score in the second half,” said Gainer. “Hopefully the holiday will let us get some key people healthy and ready for the conference.”

Leading JDCC were Keonta Edwards with 10 points and seven rebounds; Dexter Williams with eight points and four rebounds; and Trae Walker with eight points.

Leading Southern Union State was Devin Pugh with 26 points and seven rebounds; and Jacobey White with 16 points, five assists and three steals.

JDCC had 26 turnovers in the game compared to 14 by Southern Union State.

After their loss on Dec. 8 against Stillman 72-77 and the loss to Southern Union State, JDCC falls to 0-9 for the season.
