WSNMS finish the season with wins

Playing on the road, W.S. Neal Middle School played their final two games of the season on Dec. 3 and Dec. 7 against McCall and Jay respectively. The girls lost to McCall and picked up their first win of the season against Jay to close out their season. The boys defeated McCall and Jay to close out their season strong.

 

WSNMS girls 25, McCall 38

The Lady Eagles found themselves trailing from the beginning of the game, going into the half down 12-22. The team would do their best scoring in the third but still were unable to stop McCall’s offense.

Leading the WSNMS girls was Alyssa Askew with 14 points.

 

WSNMS boys 40, McCall 17

The Eagle took a 10-7 lead going in to the second quarter and never gave up it up. The Eagles scored 13 points in the third quarter to extend their lead by 22 points going into the fourth.

Leading the Eagles were Marcus Page with 13 points and Kage Sims with seven points.

 

WSNMS girls 23, Jay 20

The largest lead between the two teams was two points when Neal took the lead in the third quarter, 10-8. The first quarter was scoreless and at halftime the score was tied 6-6. At the end of regulation the score was tied 18-18, forcing overtime. The Lady Eagles were able to pull out in front to win the game 23-20.

Leading the Neal was Aaliyah Askew with eight points and Alyssa Askew with six points.

The win was the first for the Lady Eagles this season. They end their season 1-7.

 

WSNMS boys 40, Jay 30

Neal jumped out in front early taking a 10-point lead going into the second quarter. Neal would outscore Jay 28-20 over the remaining three quarters to take the win.

Neal’s Marcus Page had a huge scoring night for the Eagles, scoring 22 points. Also top scorers for Neal were Dylan Ingram with five points; and La’Terrance McCants and Aquarius Taylor with four points each.

The boys finish their season 7-1
