Fraser records double-double for Lady Eagles, WSN sweeps Excel

The W.S. Neal Eagles basketball teams improved their season records with wins over Excel this Thursday.

 

WSN B-team 29, Excel 12

WSN held Excel to only six points each half. The Eagles would score a game high 12 points in the second quarter.

Leading WSN was Jordan Hails with 11 points.

The B-team is 4-1 for the season.

 

WSN girls 49, Excel 36

WSN would go into the fourth quarter lead 35-27. Neal would have big fourth quarter outscoring Excel 14-9 to win the game.

Leading the Lady Eagles were Marishia Fraser with 23 points and 11 rebounds; Keke Floyd with 12 points, nine rebounds and five steals; and Anijah Stewart with nine points and four rebounds.

The Lady Eagles are 4-6 for the season.

 

WSN boys 56, Excel 23

Neal would explode for 24 points and hold Excel to only two in the first quarter. The Eagles would lead at half time 43-10. Both teams would score 13 points in the second half.

Leading Neal were Tyshawn Davis with 15 points and five rebounds and Darius Tolbert with 14 points and 11 rebounds.

The Eagles are 8-4 for the season.

 

WSN will travel to play T.R. Miller today, Dec. 18. Games start at 4:30 p.m. with the B-team, followed by the varsity girls at 6 p.m., then boys at 7:30 p.m.
