William Buford Varner

Brewton

 

William Buford Varner, 41, of Dixon Nursery Road, Brewton, passed away Mon., Feb. 15, 2016, in a Pensacola hospital after a brief illness.

Funeral services were held Fri., Feb. 19, at 11 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.

Interment followed in L Pond Church of Christ Cemetery, Castleberry, with Minister Clifford Dixon officiating and Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.

He was a native and former resident of Evergreen, and a long time resident of Brewton. He was of the Baptist faith. He attended Conecuh County High School and was a member of the 1995 class of W.S. Neal High School, a member of the Dixionville, East Brewton, Brewton Volunteer Fire Department, and an avid Alabama fan.

He was a former employee of the City of East Brewton and was currently employed with the City of Brewton.

He is survived by the mother of his children, Erica Simmons of Brewton; three daughters, Ashley Varner, Kimberly Varner and Erin Varner, all of Brewton; half-brother, Roland King of Andalusia; uncle, Larry Varner of Brewton; aunt, Mary Varner of Brewton; and a number of cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Gail Varner.

Joe Charles “Joe” Luttrell

Brewton

 

Joe Charles “Joey” Luttrell, 66, of Kirkland Road, Brewton, passed away Fri., Feb. 19, 2016, at his residence.

Visitation will be held today from 9:30 until 11 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.

Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Speaker Joe Dozier officiating.

Interment will follow in Union Cemetery, Brewton, with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.

He was a native and life long resident of Brewton. He attended T. R. Miller High School and Ed Reid Trade School where he earned a degree in paint and body work, and was an honorary member of the W.S Neal Class of 1969.

He was of the Baptist faith, an avid hunter and fisherman and an Alabama fan.

He is survived by his wife, Kay Luttrell of Brewton; sons, JoJo (Karen) Luttrell of Brewton and Will (Maunica) Williams of Century; daughters, Trista (Lee) Gibson of Tuscaloosa and Shana (J.J.) Edmond of Pensacola; brother, Billy Luttrell of Brewton and five grandchildren, Joe William Luttrell, Lora Luttrell, Bryce Gibson, Britiny Vetitoe and Robbie Vetitoe.

Georgia Ann Lee English

Repton, Ala.

 

Georgia Ann Lee English, 90, of Range Cemetery Road, Repton, passed away Thurs., Feb. 11, 2016, at her residence after a brief illness.

Funeral services were held Sun., Feb. 14, 2016, at 3 p.m. at the Range Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Bobby Boatwright officiating.

Interment followed in Range Cemetery in Range with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Brewton directing.

She was a native and life long resident of Range. She was a member of the Range Free Will Baptist Church and a former member of the Eastern Star. She was a former member, the secretary and the treasurer of the Range Volunteer Fire Department for 23 and one half years. She retired from Vanity Fair with 12 and one half years of service and was a homemaker.

She is survived by her granddaughter; Kelli Marie English of Tampa Bay, Fla.;

daughter-in-law; Marilyn English of Tampa Bay; and brother-in-law, James English of Range.

She is preceded in death by her husband; Joseph Oliver English; and son, James David English.

Devon Spencer

East Brewton

 

Devon Spencer, 12, of East Brewton, received his angel wings on Tues., Feb. 16, 2016, at Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital after sustaining traumatic head injuries from a hit and run car accident on the way to school.

Funeral services will be held Sat., Feb. 27, at 1 p.m. at Glory to God Ministry located at 4000 W Fairfield Drive in Pensacola.

He was born on March 17, 2003, in Pensacola and was a very active student at W.S. Neal Middle School.

He is survived by his parents, Brian Spencer (Tavaneshia) and Amanda Mixon; his devoted paternal grandmother, Bobbie Spencer; maternal grandmother, Cindy Thomas; brother, Ta’Quan Platt; sister, India Spencer; two stepsisters, Amiya Holt and Kajiah McPherson; his puppy, Harley Spencer; and a whole host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
