Atmore company opens Brewton HVAC location
Coley Air Conditioning is a third generation business that began 50 years ago in Atmore. Recently the air conditioning establishment opened its doors in a second location in Brewton just off of Douglas Avenue.
“In Atmore, we had a few customers come from Brewton,” said business owner Judd Coley. “That led us to decide to open a second office here to further expand our clientele.”
Coley is the third generational owner of the business.
“It started with my granddad, then my dad, then me,” Coley said. “I’ve been involved in the business since I was 13 years old. I’ve been back doing this for about 11 years.”
Tyler Respes, who’s been with the business for about 10 years, is Coley’s trusted colleague and will manage the office in Brewton. Along with Respes, there will be five others on staff. The five workers will work in the field, functioning as mechanics and installers of the air conditioning units.
“Our job is to keep our customers’ air conditioning units in working shape as the seasons change throughout the year,” Coley said. “We primarily do residential service but also handle some light commercial.”
Coley Air Conditioning offers maintenance contracts, $159 a year for two visits.
“We come out two times a year, preferably before summer and winter, to service the customer’s unit,” Coley said. “We do things like check the freon levels, empty the unit out, clean the unit out, change the filter and blow the drains out to get the unit in its best shape.”
Estimates are free for change outs, and through Coley’s financing company, customers are offered the opportunity of 0 percent interest for 60 months on new systems.
Coley Air Conditioning is a dealer of the brand, Carrier.
Business hours are Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
