Monument to honor late Pollard-McCall principal

The Escambia County School Board Thursday OK’d a plan to construct a memorial to the late Pollard-McCall Junior High School principal, Hugh White.

White, a much-beloved educator, passed away last May following surgery complications.

Superintendent John Knott said he was approached by a group of parents, community leaders about the project, which will construct a brick structure and bell in the late educator’s memory. No construction date was discussed.
