The 2016 Blueberry 5K run and one mile walk took place at Obannon Park on Saturday morning. A good turnout from all ages came and participated in the event. The winners of each category was:

• 14 and up male:

first place, Brandon Nelson; second place, Billy Bryant; third place, Erik Morris

• 13 and under male:

first place, Bracken Pettis; second place, Sam Kelly; third place, Jayron Blackmon

• 14 and up female:

first place, Katie Nelson with the best overall time of 19:30; second place, Amber Nelson; third place , Allie Nelson

• 13 and under Female

first place, Olivia Blackmon; second place, Hannah Douglas; third place, Elizabeth Coleman.

Funds raised benefit the Matthew Hutton Billy Memorial Scholarship and are awarded competitively to students dually enrolled in JDCC and the Huntingdon College Business Management Program in Brewton.
