The Conecuh-Sepulga and Blackwater River Clean Water Partnership (CSBCWP) held their second quarter meeting on June 2 at Perdido River Farms, hosted by the Poarch Creek Indians in Atmore.
Suzanne Anderson, Georgia Pacific’s public affairs manager at the Brewton mill, took the opportunity to present a $5,000 donation to the ACWP. Janet Wofford, facilitator with the CSBCWP, and Mike Older, CSBCWP chairman, accepted the donation on behalf of the ACWP.
Half of the funds are earmarked for educational projects, workshops, meetings and travel expense for the Conecuh-Sepulga and Blackwater CWP with the remainder utilized by the statewide ACWP.
Georgia-Pacific (Brewton Mill) has been a partner and supporter for the Alabama Clean Water Partnership for more than 14 years.
The Alabama Clean Water Partnership is a nonprofit, volunteer organization dedicated to the education, conservation, and preservation of the water quality of our valuable Alabama water resources.
The success of water quality efforts is dependent on donations such as this generous gift from Georgia-Pacific. For more information on the Alabama Clean Water Partnership visit www.cleanwaterpartnership.org or telephone Janet S. Wofford at 334.488.4511.
