2016 graduate of T.R. Miller and half of the standout duo at the tailback position for the Tigers this past season, Markail Mitchell, will continue his football career at Birmingham- Southern College this fall.

In his senior year Mitchell had 139 carries for 1,054 yards and nine touchdowns. He had 26 catches for 301 yards. He was named to the All-County team.  He also lettered in basketball and track.

Mitchell also excelled in the classroom. He is a member of the National Honor Society and was named in the academic top-10 of his class at graduation ceremonies. He scored a 31 on the ACT.

Mitchell is the son of YoLundra Mitchell of Brewton.
