TRM XC strong in Jay

Nelson,Blackmon ranked top in region
The TRM cross-country team had a good outing Saturday at the 12th annual J.D. Mac XC Invitational in Jay, Fla.
The girls’ team finished second overall with a total time of 1:45:35. Leading Miller and placing first overall was Allie Nelson with a time of 18:24.85. With her time, Nelson is ranked No. 1 in 3A Region 1 and all of 3A, and No. 4 in the state.
Other notable top 20 times for the girls were:
• Olivia Blackmon, fifth place, with a time of 19:57.90. Blackmon is ranked No. 2 in 3A-Region 1 and No. 4 in all of 3A;
• Carmen Knowles, 14th place, with a time 21:52.92;
• Madison Lum, 17th place, with a time of 22:08.54.
The boy’s team placed third overall out of 16 teams with a time of 1:31:48. Leading the team was ninth place finisher Travis Carlson with a time of 17:31.72.
Other notable times for the boys were:
• Micah Flores, 13th place, with a time of 12:52.78;
• Tailand Mitchell, 28th place, with a time of 18:43.18;
• Tucker McDaniel, 38th place, with a time of 18:54.71.
The cross-country team will compete Sat., Oct. 22 in the Auburn Tiger Classic in Auburn, beginning at 8 a.m.
