Eagles lose close game versus Ariton

The W.S. Neal Eagle baseball suffered a 5-4 loss versus Ariton on Thursday.
Ariton overcame a 3-1 deficit in the bottom of the fourth inning, eventually taking the lead 4-3 on an infield error by the Eagles. Ariton added another run in the sixth inning. The Eagles responded with a run in the top of the seventh inning when Hunter Revel singled home Jacobey Hawthorne. Ryan Tomlin of Ariton was able to record the strikeout to close out the game, leaving the tying run for the Eagles on second base.
Revel had two hits and two RBIs to lead the Eagles at the plate. Mason Arnett was 2-for-3 with two RBIs to lead the Purple Cats.
Hawthorne suffered the loss on the mound, tossing four innings, allowing four runs on four hits, and striking out two batters.
Carson Fain picked up the win on the mound for Ariton.
The Eagles are 2-2 for the season. The varsity will travel to play Flomaton today at 5 p.m.
