A Pensacola, Fla., man is behind bars after allegedly shooting and trying to rob a Brewton resident.

Brewton Police reportedly responded to a gunshot wound victim at D.W. McMillan Hospital on April 13. The victim was reportedly shot during an attempted robbery at Brewtington Point Apartments.

As a result of the investigation, Reginald Kennedy of Pensacola is charged with first-degree assault and attempted robbery.

Reports indicate this was not a random victim and residents should not be concerned for their safety at this time.
