Looking ahead: T.R. Miller vs. Bayside Academy

The T.R. Miller Tigers will take on the Bayside Academy Admirals tonight in a 3A, region 1 matchup that has the potential to send the Tigers to the playoffs for the 33rd straight season.
If the Tigers win this game, it would clinch a spot in the 3A playoffs with only one region game remaining, and mathematically eliminate Bayside.
The Tigers currently sit at 5-2 overall and 4-1 in region, which is currently a four-way tie for first place.
Bayside Academy, (BA from here on out), is 3-4 overall and 2-3 in region. They are coming off of a 23-20 win against Cottage Hill.
TRM has won its last five straight against the Admirals to take a 7-2 advantage all-time. These games have been close though, as the Tigers have only defeated BA by an average of 5.6 points in those games.
This includes a 28-23 win last year. In this game, Michael Campbell turned in a strong performance, rushing for three touchdowns and 121 yards on 31 carries. Joshua Jolly made the difference defensively with two interceptions.
This year, the two teams have faced off with four common opponents: Hillcrest Evergreen (TRM win, BA loss); Mobile Christian (both losses); Excel (both wins); Cottage Hill (both wins). The scores in these matchups were pretty similar.
The Tigers are happy to return to Brewton Municipal , where they are 2-0 in region games and only allowing 7.5 points in those games. This is a good sign against a BA team that only averages about 17 points a game.
BA has been outscored this year 183-116.
TRM looks to win its third straight and start hitting its stride at the right time before the Battle of Murder Creek in just two short weeks.
Forecast: It should be a good game Friday night, but the home field advantage should swing things in the Tigers’ favor. The strong defensive play at home could play a large factor if the Tigers’ defense can keep it up. Expect for TRM to clinch its spot in the playoffs tonight.
