The W.S. Neal Eagles travel to Andalusia tonight for a 4A, region 1 matchup against the first place Bulldogs.

The Eagles enter the matchup at 3-4 overall and 2-2 in the region. With a win and a little help from others, the Eagles can clinch at least the fourth place spot in the playoffs.

All-time the series is 10-6 in favor of Andalusia, including the last three matchups dating back to 2008.

Last year, WSN lost to Andalusia 35-8.

The Bulldogs enter at 7-1 overall and a perfect 5-0 in region. After losing its first game, Andalusia is currently riding a seven game win streak.

This is a matchup between two of the better offenses in the region, with both teams averaging over 30 points a game. Andalusia also boasts the top defense, only allowing 16.5 points per game, including 11 points per game in region play. They have two shutouts on the year.

The two teams have faced four common opponents, including Thomasville (Andalusia win, WSN loss); Satsuma (both wins); Monroe County (both wins); UMS Wright (Andalusia win, WSN loss).

Forecast: It’ll be a tough task for the Eagles traveling to Andalusia, but it’s doable. A strong running game and a couple big plays from Maddox or Hawthorne can keep the Eagles in the game. A win would be huge for WSN this late in the year, and would be a momentous moment going into the Battle of Murder Creek in two weeks.

GO BIG BLUE!
