The City Council approved a resolution on Monday for the planning of a sidewalk expansion for Alco Drive and College Drive. This included the sidewalks connecting neighborhoods to Alco Family Park.

The project is set to be paid for in total of $960,000 dollars.

A grant will pay for $800,000 of the project, while the city of Brewton will pay $160,000.

In other business, the City Council approved a resolution that requires all child-care facilities to be subject to licensing and regulation by the Department of Human Resources.
