T.R.Miller senior Joshua Jolly has signed to play college football with the University of West Alabama in Livingston.

Jolly is ready to take his game and talents to a new level as he prepares to go on a new journey.

“I want to thank my grandfather, coach Terrence Walker, and my family,” he said. “Especially to my grandfather and coach Walker as they have taken me on visits and just helped me get prepared to get here.

“It can be a struggle sometimes just thinking you might not make it, but with family on your side it helps,” Jolly said. “My grandmother motivated me to do everything. To get my education and do what’s need to be done on the field.” Jolly said he’s excited for his new journey.

“I feel great and excited for my family and me as I continue my journey, he said. “My routine is to wake up and pray every day as hard as I can”.

He said he enjoys the brotherhood when playing football just getting to know the brothers”. My relationships with the coaches are great, I love them, they got me here physically, mentally and athletically,” he said. I’m ready to get on the road to a new brotherhood and to get to know my new family at UWA.”

Jolly said, he wants to help others. “I want to make myself known to help people,” he said. “I just want to help people however way I can.”

Walker said he was happy for Jolly and for the opportunity to coach him. Walker said, Jolly showed nothing, but dedication and started as a defensive back and a star on the basketball team.”

Coach Andrew Thomas coached Jolly for two years as well, said Walker. He helped him get into the process of getting to go to UWA.

“I believe I have prepared him well enough for this new journey as his coach,” said Walker. “Academics come first as he has scored a 21 on the ACT and maintained a 3.3 GPA,” said Walker.

“My motivation is to make and raise young adults,“ he said. Jolly brought leadership, spiritual values, and athleticism as he was senior football and basketball captain.”
