The John L. Fisher Community Center board is excited to begin announce plans for the fifth annual summer program. Previous summers have seen themes ranging from “Super Heroes in our Community” to “Summer Olympics.”
This year’s program is open to children age 6 (entering first graders) up to students who just finished sixth grade.
All students must pre-register before June 1 and those forms are available now in 3 locations:
1) the City Hall in the utilities office foyer,
2) the public library and
3) just outside the front door of the Community Center.
Each week will have a different theme and corresponding activities taking place Monday through Thursday for three weeks in June and three weeks in July.
The hours of operation will be 1 -3:30 p.m. and a free lunch will be served daily from 1-1:30.
Youth volunteers interested in working with this program can complete an application in order to be considered.
All volunteers will be chosen in May.
Additional training prior to the summer activities beginning will be required in the first week of June. Adult volunteers are also needed. Those applications can be obtained by emailing sdwschool@gmail.com or by contacting any board member.
