A single-vehicle crash at 9:43 a.m., May 31, has claimed the life of an Alabama Army National Guardsman and injured another.

 John Wesley Wardrop, 38, of Satsuma, was killed when the 2009 military Humvee he was driving left the roadway and overturned on I-65 at the 63.7 mile marker, six miles north of Atmore. Wardrop was pronounced dead on scene.

The passenger, Justin Cecil McCollough, 25, of Grand Bay was transported to D.W. McMillian Hospital.

Both men were members of the 1165^th Military Police.  Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
