Brewton Allstars win 12U tourney

The Brewton All-Stars were name 12U tournament champs.

The district 8 12U tournament took place in East Brewton Friday with East Brewton and the Evergreen all stars starting things off.

East Brewton native Tyler Joyner threw the first pitch to begin off and showed his support to the guys as they prepared to play.

East Brewton started the scoring getting one run the first and one run in the second inning. After a lead off single by Jacob Bradley for Evergreen in the fourth inning he would come in to score on a wild pitch.

Evergreen committed six errors in to score six runs to extend their lead to 8-1. Evergreen would add two more runs in the fifth inning on a single and four errors. East Brewton would add a run in the bottom of the fifth to win the game 9-3.

Scoring for East Brewton, Carter Hodges and Jon Jon McCants with two runs each. Easton Grace, E.J. Kelly, Cade Campbell, Cohen Ziglar and Eli Stone all with one run. Ziglar had the only hit for East Brewton.

Scoring for Evergreen were Jacob Bradley, Damien Rankin and Jamarius Murphy. Bradley and Ramkin had two hits each for Evergreen.

On Saturday, the Brewton All-Stars advanced another step in the 12-U tournament with a big win over East Brewton by a score of 13-1.

Brewton had 12 hits and two of those hits were homeruns. Hitting for Brewton were Gavyn Tieppo with two singles, John Wesley Session with the homerun and a single. Jim Daugherty, Micah Trippe, Sam Kelley, John Moore and Jackson Sullivan each had singles.

East Brewton was eventually eliminated from the tournament by Opp were they lost 9-1.
