The Brewton Sportsman Club’s summer program will start a kickball league starting June 23. All games will be held at the Sportsman Club Park with all games being played on Sunday afternoons.
The goal is to make four teams and getting the families together as one and have a great time playing a game of kickball.
First place winners will receive a trophy, prizes for second place is still undecided and others will receive food.
YMCA sports director Darly Curry said, “We wanted to try something different so we decided on having this kickball tourney. Their isn’t a lot of time being spent with the kids, so we will be looking for people to show up and participate.”
The last day of the kickball league will be July 29. Teams will be paired together starting at ages 5-16 and then the grownups will be paired together. The games will be decided in the best two of three.
Curry said, “Anyone around the age of 80 can kick the ball and if you want we can get someone to run for you.”
They are asking for the support, families, friends and community to come out make this successful.
