Frye will be responsible for primarily sports coverage of T.R. Miller, W.S. Neal and Coastal Alabama Community College, but will also play a role in news and features coverage for the Brewton Standard.

He will also collaborate with Brewton: The Magazine, the lifestyles magazine of Brewton Newspapers Inc.

Frye has also been a photographer and videographer for eight years, being involved in major documentaries and movies.

“I’m excited to have the opportunity to serve the community by relaying their stories and up-to-date news,” he said. “I’m looking forward to meeting the people of this community.”

The Brewton Standard Publisher Kendra Majors said Frye is a great addition to the newspaper’s team.

“Community journalism, especially local sports coverage, is important to us at The Brewton Standard, and to our readers, and I’m confident that Josh will help us fulfill that mission,” Majors said. “He will quickly become a familiar face to the Greater Brewton community, and I’m sure our readers will enjoy what he brings to the table.”

Frye is married Keesha O’Barr Frye of Poarch.
