United Fund at 75% of goal

United Fund of Brewton and East Brewton has met 75 percent of their goal for the year.
The United Fund gives more than 98 cents of every dollar it raises to 15 area member agencies.
The United Fund supports The Brewton Area YMCA, American Red Cross, Brewton Public Library, The Yancey Jernigan Foundation, Boy Scouts-Gulf Coast Council, East Brewton Youth Sports, Brewton Parks and Recreational Department, Escambia County Library System, Alabama Cooperative Extension System, Hope Place Family Resource, Christian Community Benevolent Fund, Reach Out and Read Alabama, Wheels of Wellness, Disabled Children and Adults Goodwill and the Escambia County Regional Child Advocacy Center.
“The money that is raised goes back into work in the Brewton and East Brewton areas in the form of services for individuals and families who live in the Brewton and East Brewton areas. These organizations are truly wonderful organizations that provide great services to a broad spectrum of people in our communities,” United Fund President Taylor Jackson said.
United Fund kicked off the annual fundraising campaign on Oct. 1 and are close to fulfilling their $80,000 goal.
Their progress can be tracked on the United Fund thermometer on the courthouse lawn in Brewton.
