The South Alabama RSVP will have trained tax volunteers at the Brewton Public Library/Community House from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Thursdays. This is a free program and appointments may be made by calling 867-0255.

The Downtown Concert Series will be at The Hourglass.

Feb. 2

Annual MLK parade at 12 p.m. starting from the Brewton City Water Department on McLellan Street leading out onto Sowell Road and ending at the John L. Fisher Center. A service will be held at First Saint Siloam Baptist Church.

Feb. 2

The Rosa Parks Breakfast will be held at Greater Mt. Triumph Missionary Baptist Church fellowship hall at 9 a.m. The guest speaker will be Bea Forniss.

Feb. 2

Missoula Children’s Theater performance “The Pied Piper” will be held at the Coastal Alabama Community College, at 7 p.m.

Feb. 3

Chalk the Town, interactive artwork with local artists leading sidewalk artwork downtown from 2 to 4 p.m.

Feb. 9

St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church Matron’s Ministry will present “Something Good Happens When We Pray.” Join them for the prayer breakfast at 9 a.m. at the church located on Pea Ridge Road.

Feb. 10

Martin L. King Commemorate Service will be at 4 p.m. at Zion Fountain AME Church with Pastor Anthony Thames as the guest speaker. Vendors will be set up at the school ground. Registration for a booth is $25 and entrant forms are available from the local NAACP.

Feb. 17

Damascus Community Church will have Family and Friends Day at 2:30 p.m. with singing and special speakers, Bro. Tamaicus Bailey and Prophetess Singleton. Refreshments will be served.

Feb. 26

Damascus Community Church will have it’s monthly women’s meeting with Minister Melanie Etheridge speaking at 6:30 p.m.
