Dean Thelen passed his Eagle Rank Board of Review recently.
It took six years for Thelen of Boy Scout Troop 427, chartered to the St. Rosa of Lima Catholic Church in Milton, Fla., to reach a lifetime goal by earning his Eagle Scout Rank.
The final step in the process was his Eagle Project, building of Drop Off Boxes for old and retired U.S. Flags. The Drop Off Boxes are located at VFW Post 4833 and American Legion Post 78 in Milton.
During Dean’s journey to Eagle Scout, he has held various positions in the Troop and has mentored other younger Scouts.

He earned the required 21 Merit Badges along with additional 14 for a total of 35 Merit Badges, including his first, the Weather Merit Badge, which he earned due to his love of weather.
He has a love for his family, St. Maurice Catholic Church, T.R. Miller High School and his community.
