Wellington LTD to sell Alabama firearm for bicentennial
Almost 200 years ago on Dec. 14, 1819, Alabama was declared the U.S.’s 22nd state. There are many ways to celebrate Alabama’s bicentennial, but for Wellington LTD, the best way to celebrate is by honoring the second amendment.
In honor of the bicentennial, Wellington LTD will sell a limited edition firearm specifically made for Alabama.
“Just as history gets passed on to the next generation, so will these firearms,” Jean van Oppen, who leads this project, said. “This anniversary is a milestone for the state of Alabama, and we want the residents to have a tangible piece of it.”
The rifle has engraved images that reflect key aspects of Alabama. Only 67 rifles were made in this special edition to represent Alabama’s 67 counties.
A portion of each sale of the Alabama Bicentennial Rifle will be donated to Still Serving Veterans. This nonprofit helps veterans reenter the workforce. Since 2006, Still Serving Veterans has helped 67,000 veterans secure employment.
