New Surgeon comes to Brewton Medical Community

The Surgical Associates of South Alabama, P.C. and D.W. McMillan Memorial Hospital are pleased to announce the addition of a new general surgeon to the Brewton medical community. Trace Stafford, D.O. will begin practicing as a member of the Surgical Associates of South Alabama in July 2019.
“Dr. Stafford is a great addition to the Brewton medical community,” Surgical Partner at the Surgical Associates of South Alabama Thomas Boshell said. “We are excited to be able to offer another surgeon for the patients in our community.”
Dr. Stafford joins the Surgical Associates of South Alabama after completing his surgical residency at the Grandview Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. Dr. Stafford also completed his medical degree in osteopathic medicine from the University of West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in 2014.
“I am happy we were able to bring Dr. Stafford to the Brewton area,” said Dr. Craig Peterson, Surgical Partner at the Surgical Associates of South Alabama. “Dr. Stafford brings experience and knowledge that will be a great addition to our medical community.”
Dr. Stafford is married to wife, Paige and they have one 9-year-old daughter Micaela, as well as a fur baby named Hank. Dr. Stafford specializes in general surgery but more specifically gallbladder disease, hiatal hernia, minimally invasive surgery, ventral and incisional hernia, umbilical hernia, skin cancer, melanoma, breast cancer, screening and diagnostic endoscopic procedures, as well as the surgical treatment of colon cancer. His hobbies include fitness, automotive restoration, and motorcycle racing.
