BRINGING THE TITLE HOME TO BREWTON: East Brewton All-Stars are tourney champions

The East Brewton softball All-Stars came up big as they won the 2019 Southern Nationals Tournament championship in Picayune, Miss.
The team is comprised of girls from W.S. Neal and T.R. Miller.
Over the course of the weekend, the team finished with a record of 3-0-1.
MaKenzie Thomas and was a force in the pitcher’s circle as she earned two win the East Brewton All-Stars.
Thomas pitched the opening game and the championship game to help the East Brewton All-Stars win the title.
The combination of strong pitching from Thomas and lights out defense helped the East Brewton All-Stars bring home the crown.
In the championship game with the game tied 1-1, Abby Terrell ripped a triple down the line that plated two runs.
The triple by Terrell made the score 3-1 and the East Brewton All-Stars held on for a 4-1 victory.
Following the championship game, the umpires choose offensive and defensive MVPs for the tournament.
Thomas was named defensive MVP after dominating performances on the mound.
Terrell’s clutch hitting landed her the offensive MVP.
Team members include Jayda Johnson, Gracie Sims, Abby Terrell, Amiyah Odom, Madison Dawkins, Precious Howard, MaKenzie Thomas, Sailor Smith, Madison Hawthorne, Jailyn Bondurant and Morgan Dubose. Coaches include Alex Hawthorne, Doug Sims and Thomas Dubose.
