Schools release back to school information
The first day of school for Brewton City Schools and Escambia County Schools is Aug. 8. That day will be a full day of school for all students. Teachers from both school systems will report back to school on Aug. 5.
Brewton Elementary School
Pre-K and Kindergarten will be across the street this year from the main BES building. Pre-K and Kindergarten will be at the Central Office (811 Belleville Avenue). Pre-K will be in the first hall, Kindergarten will be in the second hall.
Brewton Middle School
There will be a Title I Parent Meeting on Aug. 4, at 1:30 p.m. in the BMS Cafeteria. Following the Title I meeting, there will be an open house for fifth grade and new students. This will begin at 2 p.m. in the cafeteria. Out of district fees ($125) need to be paid at any school in the system by Aug. 6. School supplies ordered will be available for pickup during open house or any time Aug. 6-7. School supplies that is not picked up before the first day of school will be given to those students on the first day of school. Seventh and eighth grade summer reading reports will be turned in during the first week of school, and students will take a Reading Counts test for a grade. T.R. Miller High School
Class schedules for students will be available on Aug. 2 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the media center. All schedule changes should be completed on Aug. 2.
W.S.N Elementary School
The school has made a couple of changes to the 2019-2020 school dress code. Gold polos are allowed this year at WSNES in addition to white and royal blue. Outerwear must also only be school colors or a combination of school colors (royal blue, white, or gold). All tights this year must be solid white, royal blue, or gold only. Boots are not allowed at WSNES this year. Open house will be Aug. 7 in the cafeteria. Go to WSNES’s Facebook page for each grade’s specific times.
W.S.N. Middle School
Open House is on Aug. 7. Fifth grade will be at 12 p.m. Sixth grade will be at 1 p.m. Seventh grade will be at 2 p.m. Eighth grade will be at 3 p.m.
