Earlier this morning, a plane made an unexpected landing.

According to local officials, the plane was headed south towards Fla.

While in flight, the small plane lost engine power.

Looking for a safe landing area, the pilot found a field adjacent to Bethel Rd. located just inside the Escambia County line.

The large green field served as the perfect tarmac, ensuring a safe landing for the passengers onboard. Dixonville Volunteer Fire Department was first to arrive on the scene.
