The annual Christmas parade is slated for Dec. 13, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
A highlight of the year, the parade offers a fun-filled family event for the community.
This year, the parade will feature many local individuals, churches, and organizations. “All floats must be Christmas themed and have lights, since it is a night parade,” said Greater Brewton Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Judy Crane.
The parade will begin in East Brewton on Shoffner Street and make its way down Forest Avenue over the bridge onto Mildred Street. It will turn across the railroad tracks and make its way up Belleville Avenue where it will disband around the Post Office.
One of the main concerns this year is the safety of everyone present during the parade. “We encourage everyone to follow the safety boundaries set,” said Crane.
Other participants in the parade include the W.S. Neal Marching band and T.R. Miller Marching band, along with Santa and Mrs. Claus at the end, ringing in the season.
“Santa Clause will be the highlight as always,” concluded Crane.
