City of Brewton recognizes 2019 TRM High School football team

The T.R. Miller High School football team was recognized for outstanding performance during the city council meeting on Monday.
With many in attendance, members of the team gathered at the Brewton Municipal Court for the afternoon meeting.
At the beginning of the meeting, Mayor Yank Lovelace welcomed all visitors. He then read the proclamation recognizing the team for, “Outstanding athletic performance, representing the city of Brewton.”
This past season, the TRM football team traveled to 4 postseason games to reach the semifinals for the first time in more than a decade.
“We proclaim that the TRM high school football team be honored by the city and all its residents,” read Lovelace.
Following the proclamation, the team was pictured with the mayor and council. In other business a proclamation was approved by the mayor and council, recognizing Jan. 2020 as human trafficking awareness month.
In new business, the council approved the following actions: firefighter cancer insurance policy, Murphy Express 8546 Alcohol license, and a data transmission service agreement with Uniti Fiber. The next meeting of the council will be in 2020.
