Rain is likely in the upcoming days ahead. “We have a chance of rain forecast at least through Thursday,” said David Adams, Escambia County EMA director.

With the rain comes the chance for sever weather. Adams said, “Our highest potential for any severe weather is forecasted for late Wednesday through Wednesday night.”

According to Adams, the following was released from the National Weather Service and is the latest information regarding the weather within the area.

Severe  Potential Late Wednesday:

Highest Threat Level: Slight

What: A squall line of strong to severe storms may impact the area ahead of an approaching cold front Wednesday night.  Discrete supercells ahead of this line cannot be ruled out. Damaging wind will again be the main threat, though a tornado or two cannot be ruled out.

Where: Across our entire region.

When:  The best severe potential currently looks to be Wednesday evening through late Wednesday night.  Adjustments to the forecast and timing may be made over the next couple of days.
