FHS rips WSN in county tournament
Flomaton closed out play Saturday, Feb. 22, in the Escambia County Baseball Tournament with a 9-4 win over W.S. Neal.
WSN took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning as Paxton Scurlock sinled to drive in Jordan Crane.
Flomaton quickly countered in the bottom of the first when Jackson Steele doubled and Nick Turner chase him home with a single for a 1-1 tie.
The Blue Eagles struck back in the top of the second. With one out, Gavin Leggett struck out but reached first on a passed ball. Jennings Hobbs followed with a walk and Crane drew a base on ball to load the bases.
Samuel Bosarge walked to force Leggett in from third for a 2-1 lead and Jacob Bondurmt singled to score Hobbs and Bosarge to make it 4-1.
Flomaton responded with eight unanswered runs for the win.
Steele, in relief, picked up the win. Bondurant was charged with the loss.
