Escambia County Alabama 4-H is partnering with the Conecuh County 4-H to offer a special pet program.
The program is entitled a 4-H Pet Rabbit Project and will be offered for the 2020-2021 program year.
According to Kelly Rexroat, 4-H Foundation Regional Extension Agent II, the program is, “A great pet project for those youth that want to learn about raising a pet with something that is easy and with a low cost of maintenance and care.”
The project is scheduled to begin in late July. To participate youth must be 9-years-old in the year 2020.
“We are currently gauging the level of interest so that we can ensure the availability of rabbits from breeders,” said Rexroat.
If interested, students should contact Rexroat via Facebook or by text message at 251-359-6522. In the message be sure to provide a parent and youth name to ensure Rexroat can follow up with more information. A registration cost will be required to cover the cost of the rabbit, along with some personal cost for essential care.
