BREWTON, ALA.
Deloris Jean Ikner, 51, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2020. She was born and raised in Brewton, where she attended T.R. Miller but ended her high school years at W.S. Neal High School in East Brewton. She later spent 33 years married to the love of her life, James E. Ikner.
For many years, Deloris worked at Westgate Village, but spent the last seven years at D.W. McMillian Memorial Hospital, where she was recently promoted to Environmental Service Manager.
Deloris was a dedicated wife and mother, first and foremost. She treasured her family and embraced every moment spent with them. She especially loved her role as a grandmother.
Deloris was preceded in death by her mother, Ruby Lee Woods; father, Herbert Woods; a daughter, Jennifer Woods; a brother, Eric Leon Davis; a sister, Lillian Garvin.
She is survived by her husband of 33 years, James E. Ikner; her children, Jacqueline Woods, James Woods, Deloris Ikner, Catherine Ikner, David Ikner and Jasmine Ikner; her grandchildren, Demarious, Mari Anna, Shaniya, Alayiha, Neveah, Amyrian, Malia, Adley and a soon-to-be granddaughter, Aburey; she is also survived by Rena Mae Smith (Samuel), Willie Monroe (Late Willie), Cornelia Ward (Kenny), Shirley Causey (Late Henry), Tavonteva Watson, Robert, Herbert Woods, Anthony Woods, and Marcus Woods (Shauna); a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral service for Mrs. Deloris Ikner was held Friday, June 5, 2020, at 11AM at Presley-Fluker Funeral Chapel in Brewton, with the Reverend Danny Benjamin officiating.
Interment immediately followed at Hamden Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery in Castleberry, Ala.
Professional care and final arrangements were entrusted to Presley-Fluker Funeral Directors of Evergreen, Ala.
