Graduating students of Coastal Alabama Community College for 2020 and 2021 will be able to participate in an in-person ceremony set for later this spring, according to CACC officials.
Ceremonies for graduates will be held in Brewton, Monroeville and Bay Minette with graduates from the 2020 and the 2021 classes given an opportunity to march across stage to be recognized for their accomplishments. The ceremonies are planned for mid-May.
Graduation ceremonies are scheduled for the following dates and times:
· Brewton – Thursday, May 13 at 4:00 p.m.
· Monroeville – Thursday, May 13 at 11:00 a.m.
· Bay Minette – Friday, May 14 at 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Students will sign up for a particular time.
The Monroeville and Brewton campuses’ ceremonies will be held on May 13. The Bay Minette Campus ceremony will be held on May 14. Qualified students who wish to walk in May 2021 should complete the graduation application on Coastal Alabama’s website by April 8 to ensure participation. The College’s Barnes & Noble bookstore has a $43.98 graduation package, which includes gown, tassel and cap that students can keep. Caps and gowns must be ordered by May 7 to participate in the May 2021 graduation ceremony. Orders may be placed online or in the Bay Minette Campus Barnes & Noble Bookstore.
Adult Education graduates should contact the Adult Education Office at 251-580-2105 for more information regarding graduation.
Coastal Alabama Community College will continue to heed CDC and Alabama Department of Public Health guidelines for public, indoor events for these graduation ceremonies. College officials will also continue to monitor the COVID-19 pandemic as plans move forward for the events.
At this time, the College has not set if tickets will be provided for guests or how many tickets each graduate will receive. Those details will be discussed after the graduation application closes on April 8. More information will be posted at that time.
For graduates or families who prefer not to participate in a seated ceremony, the College will again offer the virtual graduation ceremony acknowledging all of the 2021 graduates. This virtual delivery was a huge success in 2020 and allowed extended family and friends to be included in this tremendous milestone for our students.
