Lines begin to form for gasoline in Brewton
Brewton area drivers are sitting in line hoping to get a little gasoline at the pumps. They may be in for a long wait.
As of Monday afternoon, area gas stations were already seeing overwhelming crowds waiting for a chance at the pumps.
According to reports, a cyber attack on a pipeline system that supplies 45 percent of the gasoline to the east coast of the United States may cause some issues of the shut-down as a result of the attack is prolonged.
It is unclear if the rush to the gas stations today is due to that attack or if it a “knee-jerk” reaction from consumers.
It is unclear whether current supplies in the Brewton area will be able to serve those itching to get to the pumps.
