Back2School Fest set for this month

Organizers with Wayne’s Recreation and Community Outreach program are making plans now for the 12th Annual Back2School Festival

The event is planned for, Saturday, July 31, 2021; 9:00 a.m. to noon at the Wayne’s Outreach Neighborhood Park.

Free backpacks and school supplies will be given out for school-age children through the twelfth grade. The child must be present in order to receive the items.

A lunch as well as a snack will be provided during the distribution time.

In addition to the give-aways, the group is planning special activities with fun games including a Bike-A-Thon (bring your own bike), a walk-a-thon, sack races, a three-legged race, giant checkers, bowling and other games.

There will also be entertainment, activity bounces, a hay ride and train ride. Other activities are also planned.

The day will end end with cooling down in the Splash Pad at the J. L. Fisher Center and a cool treat for snacks.

Wayne’s Outreach Neighborhood Park is located at Sellers Street/Washington Circle, within walking distance to J. L. Fisher Center
