Hospital administrators around the area are monitoring pandemic conditions to determine possible changes in access to hospital facilities.

Jason Daniel, director of public affairs and marketing for D.W. McMillan Memorial Hospital in Brewton, said that monitoring will continue as long as necessary.

“D.W. McMillan Memorial Hospital is continuing to monitor the ever-changing COVID-19 pandemic locally, statewide and nationally,” Daniel said.  “Although we have seen an uptick in positive cases, the number of those requiring hospitalization has remained relatively low.  We continue to follow protocols set forth by the CDC and the Governor of Alabama. We strive to maintain the safest environment for our patients, visitors and staff members, while providing the services needed by our community.

“We remain open to those seeking medical attention and scheduling appointments for all  hospital services. Our physician offices remain open and ready to serve our community.  We will continue watching the COVID-19 pandemic and will issue further communication as the need arises,” Daniel said.

Atmore Community Hospital has amended their visitation schedule at their facility and are also limiting the number of people allowed to accompany those seeking services at the facilities.
