McClung contract accepted as superintendent for Escambia County Schools

The Escambia County Board of Education accepted the signed contract from Michele McClung to take the position as the System’s next superintendent of education for the county.
School board attorney Broox Garrett, presented the board with the signed contract from McClung for acceptance.
“This is the same contract that we sent out and that you received,” Garrett told the board. “We received this at about 3 o’clock.”
Since board members had previously reviewed and approved the contract before presentation to McClung early this week, there was no discussion on the matter. The approval/acceptance of the contract was approved unanimously by the board. Board member David Nolin was not present at the meeting.
The contract is to become effective September 1, 2021.
