Tigers on hunt for win 700
For the second season in a row, The T.R. Miller Tiger football team is working toward a milestone.
Friday night’s game against Cottage Hill at Brewton Municipal Stadium could be the game that puts the Tigers in the record books in another category.
The Tigers, throughout the history of the team, has won 699 games with just one more win needed to put them at the top of the list for the winningest team in Alabama.
Last season, TRM Head Coach Brent Hubbard had a milestone of his own when the Tigers defeated W.S. Neal to mark the coach’s 200th career win.
If the Tigers are successful in defeating Cottage Hill, they will accomplish something that no other high school in Alabama has done.
In a social media post by Hubbard, he said any attempt at a milestone such as this takes more than just the players.
“Something to think about this week as the T.R. Miller Tigers attempt to do something no other school in Alabama high school football history has done,” Hubbard said. “So many great teams. So many great coaches. So many great players. But never forget it also takes great parenting, school leaders, and unbelievable communities investing in the youth for long period of time!”
Tickets for Friday’s game at Brewton Municipal Stadium are on sale now at the office of T.R. Miller High school and are available for purchase during normal school hours. Tickets are $6 in advance in the school office until Friday at 2 p.m. Tickets will also be available at the gate for $7.
Kick-off is set for 7 p.m. Friday.
