Just out today, the Council for Leaders in Alabama Schools (CLAS) has bestowed special honors to Brewton Elementary School in two areas as they represent District 1 in the State School Board areas.
The CLAS School of Distinction Award recognizes school programs that serve as outstanding educational models for other schools in Alabama. These exemplary schools/programs will be recognized at an awards luncheon in May. At the awards luncheon, the CLAS Banner School for each district will be named.
BES honors include:
Brewton Elementary Book Club
Brewton Elementary School, Brewton City Schools
The Reading Streak
Brewton Middle School, Brewton City Schools
The CLAS Banner School program was created in 2001 to recognize schools in Alabama that showcase outstanding programs and services to students. 166 school programs were nominated for this prestigious recognition.
“Congratulations to these wonderful Alabama public schools. The CLAS Schools of Distinction provide excellent examples of the significant learning opportunities taking place in public education in Alabama. Further, the stakeholders at every School of Distinction are to be commended for striving for excellence daily,” comments Dr. Vic Wilson, executive director of the Council for Leaders in Alabama Schools (CLAS).
This program would not be possible without its generous sponsors. LEAN Frog is the program’s keystone partner and foundation partners are American Fidelity Assurance, Classworks, Curriculum Associates, Edgenuity, and PowerSchool. CLAS appreciates its sponsors for the invaluable support of the CLAS Banner School Awards program.
