In a Thursday afternoon release, Escambia County School students will be in a “virtual learning” situation on Friday due to expected severe weather across the area throughout the day.

The announcement was made in order to insure the safety of students across the county as well as bus drivers, faculty and staff in the county’s school system.

In a similar announcement, officials with Coastal Alabama Community College has closed campuses for Friday.

Due to inclement weather expected on Friday,  all campuses of Coastal Alabama Community College will be closed during the day on Friday, March 18. Night classes for the Aviation programs will continue to meet Friday evening.
