The event, set for Friday and Saturday at the Brewton Municipal Arena at O’Bannon Park, will feature a wide variety of events including some fun activities for the young and young-at-heart.
Judy Crane, executive director of the Chamber, said that pre-sale tickets are going fast.
“For those who want to get tickets before going to the arena, we will have those on sale through Thursday only,” Crane said. “After that, tickets will need to be purchased at the gate using cash only.”
Tickets for each days events are $10 in advance or $15 at the gate with tickets for children under 12 at $5.
“Tickets can still be purchased on-line or at the Chamber office,” Crane said.
The events planned for this year’s Rodeo include Mutton Bustin’ which gives children a chance to ride a bucking sheep. The even is open to children 50 pounds. or under and will be $5 per ride.
Another special presentation this year will be Tim Lepard who will be bringing a special kind of entertainment for rodeo attendees.
Lepard will bring a “Cowboy Monkey Rodeo” to the event that is sure delight children of all ages — and maybe even the adults.
Lepard hails from Pontotoc, Miss., and his growing fascination with monkeys and the rodeo stage over the years, has evolved into a spectacular presentation — an act he has presented since the late 1980s.
In addition to the special show, children will have an opportunity to take a pony ride along with other activities geared to the younger crowd.
Crane said there will be plenty of food and drinks available with concessions offering a variety of choices on both evenings.
“We also want to offer a huge thanks to our sponsors this year,” Crane said. “Without the help of our sponsors, this event would be the success that it has been for our community.”
Sponsors for the 2022 Chamber PCA Rodeo include Peach Chevrolet, Grede, City of Brewton Gas Department, Gulf Winds Credit Union, Jalisco’s Mexican Restaurant, Escambia County Sheriff Heath Jackson with WKRG/Gulf Coast CW as the official media partner for the event.
Crane said weather is looking like it will cooperate this year to offer perfect rodeo weather.
“The weather is going to be perfect, so bring the entire family and enjoy a great time,” Crane said. “There will be lots of food vendors on hand, so come hungry and have a great time!”
