D.W. McMillan Memorial Hospital (DWM) has announced the planned retirement of DWM Director of Nursing, Bob Ellis on December 31, 2022.
Ellis joined DWM in 1977 as an orderly and in 1980, Bob became a Registered Nurse. Over the years, Bob has served as House Supervisor, ICU & Med/Surg Nurse Manager, Assistant Director of Nursing and in 2002 became the Director of Nursing.
“We are very thankful for the wonderful service and leadership Bob has provided in his various roles over the last 45 years,” stated Stacy Hines, DWM Administrator. “We wish him the very best in retirement spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren.”
LeAnne Rowell will succeed Ellis as the Director of Nursing for DWM, effective January 1, 2023. Hines went on to state, “We are privileged to have someone of LeAnnes’s capabilities to assume the role of Director of Nursing for DWM, and I look forward to working with LeAnne in her new role.”
According to DWM officials, Rowell will be responsible for all DWM hospital nursing services.
She will continue to coordinate efforts with the rest of the hospital leadership team. Rowell has lived in Brewton for the past 13 years along with her husband, Terry, and four children, Morgan, Austin, Makenna, and Rebekah. She loves spending time with her family and loves the outdoors.
