After a two-year absence, the “little red truck” has once again found its way to Brewton.
The Brewton Council of the Arts is hosting the Missoula Children’s Theatre group this week as part of the annual theatrical performances set by the group.
Stephanie Walker with BCA said the annual event is one that is looked forward to by many young actors throughout the community.
“Each year, the little red truck pulls into Brewton with everything it takes to mount a full-scale musical production except the cast,” BCA officials said. “That’s where the children of our community come in.”
Try-outs were held Monday with rehearsals beginning immediately after the cast was set. Those rehearsals will reveal a finished show to be presented to the public on Saturday.
The curtain will rise at 7 p.m. in the Woodfin Patterson Auditorium on the Coastal Alabama Community College on Alco Drive in Brewton.
Tickets for the single show is $15 for adults and $8 for students.
Season tickets are still available for $25 for adults, $50 for a family season ticket or $20 for senior citizen tickets.
Tickets may be purchased at the door at each production, or they may be purchased online at www.brewtoncouncilofthearts.com and clicking on the tickets tab. Tickets and information may also be found by conctacting Susan Miller at 251-363-0176.
There will be two additional shows this season to complete the series of performances arranged through the Brewton Counil of the Arts.
On the evening of Monday, Feb. 13, Chi-Town Transit Authority will perform. The eight-piece group is dedicated to reproducing the “Chicao” concert experience.
On Tuesday, April 11, Sail On — A Beach Boys Tribute will take the stage presenting music of “America’s Band.”
