A crash between a CSX train and a personal truck happened just before the noon rush Tuesday in downtown Brewton at the Hwy. 31 and US 41 intersection (main traffic light). First responders from Brewton and East Brewton responded to the scene.

The lone female occupant was alert and physically able to stand following the incident but was transported by ambulance to D.W. McMillan Memorial Hospital to be checked for possible unseen injuries. Only minor injuries were expected.

Traffic through the downtown area remained congested until around 2 p.m. following the incident.
