Beginning Monday, students at W.S. Neal Schools will be celebrating Homecoming 2023.

The selection of the homecoming queen and her court has already been made, but the official announcement will come later this week.

Homecoming events will culminate in a day of celebration on Sept. 15 and will include the annual open house, alumni pep rally and, of course, the Homecoming Parade.

Students at W.S. Neal High School will be showing off their style and creativity as an “accessories only” observance is held Monday through Thursday. Monday will be “patriotic” day with Tuesday allowing “anything but a backpack.” Wednesday will see students in special class colors including yellow for freshmen, blue for sophomores, purple for juniors and pink for seniors. Thursday will be Eras/Decade Day celebrating the 90s. On Friday students will show their Eagle spirit and will be allowed to wear jeans for the day.

Homecoming day activities will begin at 8 a.m. when floats will begin lining up in the designated area near the football stadium. All floats must be in line by 12:30 p.m. when a driver meeting is set.

The school will open to alumni with a tour of the facilities and a social gathering in the school volleyball gym. The annual homecoming pep rally will be held at 10:15 in the basketball gym and will honor all returning alumni.

School will dismiss at 11:15 a.m. for the day at W.S. Neal High School with other school dismisalls to follow.

The Homecoming Parade will begin at 1 p.m. leaving from the school and traveling down Forrest Avenue. The parade will end at Magnolia Superfoods and make a return trip back to the school

The special pregame activities will begin at 6:30 p.m. with the presentation of the homecoming queen and court as well as recognition of returning alumni.

The Eagles will take on Monroe County in a region matchup for the homecoming game with kickoff set at 7 p.m.
