Students, faculty and alumni are gearing up for Homecoming this week at W.S. Neal High School in East Brewton.
The week-long celebration began with class floatbuilding set for each afternoon. Those floats will be judged on Friday morning.
The Friday homecoming day celebration will begin with the school opening for tours by alumni and members of the community. An alumni social will be held in the gym beginning at 9 a.m. and will be followed by an Alumni Pep Rally at 10:15 a.m.
Students will be released early to enjoy the festivities of the day with dismissal at 11:15 a.m.
All floats, including alumni floats, will take their places and should be in the line up no later than 12:30 p.m. with a mandatory driver meeting at the school entrance at that time.
The parade will begin at 1 p.m. leaving from the school and traveling down Forrest Avenue in East Brewton ending at Piggly Wiggly. Floats will return to the school for participant pick up.
Pregame activities start at W.S. Neal’s football stadium beginning at 6: 30 p.m. with the presentation of the homecoming court and crowning of the queen.
The W.S. Neal Eagle’s will be hosting Monroe County High School for the homecoming game with kick off set at 7 p.m.
Tickets will be available at the office until noon on Friday with additional tickets for sale at the gate on game night.
Alumni classes honored will be those from 1953 through 2018 with special recognition during parade and pre-game events.
